Red wine and peat often work beautifully (think Longrow Red). Edradour’s “Ballechin” has even greater phenol levels weighing in at a minimum of 50ppm. The colour of this whisky is a wonderful deep ruby red from maturation in an x-Burgundy cask. Distilled in 2004 and bottled in early 2017 with an outturn of 421 bottles. Non chill filtered, natural colour and cask strength. Very limited stocks. 50.7% Alc./Vol.
