Sanguine Estate was establishedin 1997 by Tony Hunter and his family. Initially16 acres were planted however by 2002, it had beenexpanded to 55 acres. 50 acres is planted to Shirazwith the remaining 5 acres planted to 8 different varietiesof red and white grapes. A new winery was commissioneda couple of years ago with a crush capacity of 100 tonnes. The 2006 growingseason started with good winter rains and was followed by above average spring rains.A warm hot summer was followed by a cool March and April which extended the ripeningperiod allowing the grapes to develop a classic Heathcote concentrated flavour profile

Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Superb nose with aroma of blackberry,vanilla, confectionary and liquorice. The palate is mouthfilling, very intense inflavour and back in top form. Flavours of black pepper, spice and liquorice. Perfectlybalanced, fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of blackberry, black pepper andplum.
