Amaro Nonino Quintessentia Riserva 24 is a rare, limited-edition version of the world-famous grappa-based amaro from the Nonino family of Friuli, Italy. Where the standard Quintessentia is rested in barrique for a matter of months, the Riserva is aged far longer in oak, deepening the color and folding the herbs, roots, and citrus of the recipe into the aged grappa base with remarkable harmony.
The result is richer and more complex than the classic: bitter orange peel, caramel, licorice, and dried fruit with layers of oak, spice, and a long, silky, bittersweet finish at 35% ABV. It is an amaro for sipping neat or over a single cube after dinner, and it turns a Paper Plane or a Black Manhattan into something extraordinary. This 750 ml bottle is a collector’s piece and a superb gift.
