Our favourite maltster Crisp Malt recently released an interesting new malt in their small batch series, 04 Toasted Malted Oats, with the somewhat intriguing tasting notes of flapjack and roasted hazelnuts. Exciting, right?! We knew we had to give it a try.
Paired with our usual base of Extra Pale Maris Otter, Naked Oats and some unmalted oats (and a pinch of German chit malt) and then DDHd with Belma, Zappa and Mosaic hops – this hazy monster sure is something else. Notes of toasted bread, cantaloupe, strawberry, tropical stone fruits and blueberry candy.
Malts: Maris Otter Extra Pale, Naked Oats, Torrefied Oats, Toasted Oats & Chit Malt. Hops: Mosaic Incognito, Belma, Zappa & Mosaic. Yeast: WLP066 London Fog.
