Balcones Texas Rye is distilled in Waco, Texas, from a 100% rye mashbill built on Elbon rye grown in northwest Texas with crystal, chocolate and roasted rye malts, the kind of specialty grains a brewer would use, which give it a flavor unlike any Kentucky or Indiana rye. It is aged at least 15 months in oak and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof).
