Ballyhoo Irish Whiskey comes from the Connacht Whiskey Company in Ballina, County Mayo, on Ireland’s west coast. It is a grain whiskey aged four years and then finished in apple brandy casks, an unusual choice that gives it a soft orchard-fruit sweetness on top of the vanilla and caramel from American oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
Expect caramel, vanilla and baked apple on the nose, a light, smooth palate with a whisper of spice, and a clean finish. It is an easy neat pour and a good mixer for a whiskey ginger, a Hot Toddy or an apple-forward highball. The name is an old Irish word for noisy celebration, which fits the friendly, crowd-pleasing style.
This 750ml bottle is a different kind of Irish whiskey at a fair price. Buy Ballyhoo Irish Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
