John Glaser’s London blending house built it to balance big, smoky Islay and Highland peat with malty, fruity sweetness, drawing on heavily peated malts from distilleries such as Laphroaig and Caol Ila alongside Ardmore’s gentler Highland smoke.
Bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, it is thick with peat smoke and sea air on the nose, but the palate surprises with orange, ripe fruit and spice under the smoke, finishing long, savory and smoky. Drinkhacker rated it a B+ and praised its balance.
