Dictador’s distinctive journey begins not with molasses, but with the fermentation of virgin sugarcane honey – a luxurious, concentrated syrup derived from the first pressing of fresh sugarcane juice. The spirit then undergoes a dual distillation process, utilizing both an antique alembic copper pot still (for heavier, more aromatic distillates) and a modern steel continuous column still (for lighter, more refined spirits), creating a perfectly balanced medium-bodied rum.
The “Perpetual” in its name refers to Dictador’s traditional and dynamic Solera aging system. This intricate method involves a cascading series of highest quality pre-used oak barrels, predominantly ex-Bourbon casks, but also includes ex-Sherry butts and ex-Port casks.
