Distilleria Friulia Sgnape dal Fogolar Stravecchia is a 750ml aged grappa riserva from Caffo’s Distilleria Friulia in Udine, in Italy’s northeastern Friuli region. It is distilled in a bain-marie alembic pot still, where the grape pomace is gently steam-distilled, then aged a minimum of 18 months in oak casks, and per the grappa G.I. it is made from 100% Italian pomace.
The nose offers vanilla cream, quince, toasted barley and a touch of cinnamon, and the warming palate unfolds baked apple, vanilla and cherry with fresh sourdough and dried straw on the finish. Enjoy it neat or in a caffè corretto.
