94-96 There are three barrels of the 2017 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru, two of them new. It has a very well-defined bouquet of blackberry, briar, raspberry and estuarine scents (think of cold marshland on a winter day.) The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, beautifully integrated 100% whole bunch fruit, and fresh and very poised toward the persistent vintage. A superb Grands Echézeaux, and a seriously fine follow-up to the excellent 2016.
