The tequila is 100% blue Weber agave from a single estate in the highlands of Jalisco, aged for six years, double the three-year minimum for the extra añejo category, and then finished in the same French oak wine barrels Duke uses to finish its Grand Cru whiskeys, an unusual crossover between the brand’s two sides. It’s bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), and the release is limited to 1,000 bottles. Duke describes the profile as deep cherry and oak layered over the pure agave underneath. Proceeds from the Grand Cru line support the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, which Ethan Wayne chairs. Pour it neat in a copita or snifter and give it time in the glass.
