FONTERUTOLI 2021 CHIANTI CLASSICO

90% Sangiovese, 10% Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Merlot

Castello di Fonterutoli’s Chianti Classico Riserva comes from the mid-altitude slopes along Castellina’s western cascade of hills. That gives their Chianti a fleshy fruit texture that’s well-matched with an infusion of polished tannins that grounds it, and a mix of warm aromas that balance ripe cherry tones and savory herbal/earthy accents.

WINE SPECTATOR 93 POINTS – “This powerful red is dense yet fleshy, evoking cherry, tobacco, iron, earth and wild herb notes. Balanced and fresh, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit, savory Mediterranean herbs and mineral notes. Best from 2026 through 2041. 5,000 cases made, 500 cases imported.”
