Goslings Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Bermuda Rum: A Voyage of Flavor and Discovery
Embark on an extraordinary sensory journey with Goslings Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Bermuda Rum, a captivating and innovative expression from the legendary Goslings Rum Company. With over 200 years of rum-making heritage, Goslings pushes the boundaries of traditional aging by harnessing the dynamic power of the Atlantic Ocean to create a truly unique and remarkable spirit.
The voyage of Goslings Spirited Seas begins on land, where a superior blend of premium, aged dark Bermuda rums is carefully selected. These exceptional rums are then filled into once-used, vintage charred American white oak bourbon barrels. The true magic unfolds when these barrels are loaded onto a vessel – typically the container ship Oleander, known as the lifeline of Bermuda – where the rum embarks on an incredible ocean-aged journey for an additional year. Traveling back and forth from Bermuda to the Mid-Atlantic, the rum continuously interacts with the charred oak over every wave. The constant movement of the stormy seas and the varying temperatures encountered on its over 59,920 nautical mile voyage accelerate the aging process, forcing the rum to expand and contract within the barrel, extracting an unparalleled depth of flavor and character. Bottled at 44% ABV (88 Proof), Goslings Spirited Seas is a testament to the brand’s pioneering spirit and the unpredictable, yet transformative, influence of the open ocean.
