J. Hofstätter is one of Alto Adige’s historic estates, founded in 1907 and based in Termeno. Its Pinot Grigio is 100% varietal, from estate and long-term grower vineyards on light marl soils at roughly 250 to 375 meters, and it is a bright straw yellow in the glass.
The aromas mix citrus, peach, and honeydew melon with a pronounced pear note. The palate is medium-rich, fruity, and well structured, with orchard fruit and a tangy, fruity acidity on the finish. Six months on fine lees in stainless steel keeps it clean. Try it with light antipasti, grilled fish, and chicken dishes.
