The 2023 La Côte de Monts Damnés is a blend of three parcels within this famous vineyard. It has the classic Monts Damnés fullness on entry, like the base of a pyramid narrowing as it moves along the mouth to a fine, focused apex. Flavor-wise, this is restrained, with delicate notes of pear and ripe orchard fruits ending with a mineral firmness that’s very attractive. Fourteen months on lees in both amphora and barrel (30/70) lent some toasted vanilla notes and pastry aromas.
