The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits is quite youthfully reserved, unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh pastry, blanched almonds, white flowers and drawn butter. Medium to full-bodied, racy and introverted, it’s long and chalky but will need some bottle age to show all its cards.
