The Johnnie Walker King George V whiskey was created to honor the king who granted the distillery’s its first Royal Warrant in 1934. It is made by hand-selecting rare whiskies from distilleries that existed during his reign, including some from the now-closed Port Ellen distillery. It is known for its depth of character and elegant reserve.
Nose – Sweet, smoky aromas from Port Ellen greet you. Its followed by notes of orange, raisins, figs and cinnamon.
Palate – Abundant spice and dried fruits from Speyside and Highland whiskies are perfectly balanced with vanilla. They release layers of sweet fruits, dark chocolate, toffee and roast nuts.
Finish – Port Ellen gives a coastal smokiness that gathers momentum through the long finish.
