Made with the same hands-on, old-fashioned methods as Springbank, from lightly peated barley malted on Springbank’s floor maltings, Kilkerran is bottled non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, and its 8 Year Cask Strength is released in small, sought-after batches.
At full cask strength, the lightly peated barley shows from the start, alongside green apple, rhubarb crumble, vanilla and all-butter shortbread on the nose. The palate brings the earthiness and saltiness that define a Campbeltown dram, with icing sugar, puff candy, milk chocolate and walnut, finishing with peat, sootiness, pencil shavings and a licorice-tinged maltiness. A cult bottle for Springbank fans and one of the best values in Campbeltown.
