Ouzo 12 is Greece’s best-known ouzo, named for the barrel number 12 that the Kaloyannis brothers found made the best spirit in their Constantinople distillery in 1880. Made by distilling grape spirit with anise and Mediterranean botanicals, it is smooth and aromatic with bold anise, a gentle sweetness, and a clean, warming finish. Add ice or water and it turns cloudy white.
Ouzo is Greece’s national spirit and the heart of the meze table. Serve Ouzo 12 chilled over ice with olives, grilled seafood, and feta, or mix it with lemonade for an easy summer cooler.
