It is made from Indian six-row barley, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon casks in Goa’s tropical climate, then bottled at 55.2% ABV (110 proof), non chill-filtered and uncolored, in a 750ml bottle.
From the first sip the malted barley leads, followed by a spine of bourbon-cask vanilla, manuka honey and licorice, and then an unexpected note of toasted honeycomb. The texture is rich and oily and the finish is long, sweet and gently spiced. Goa’s heat matures whisky roughly three times faster than Scotland, so this drinks far older than its years.
