Tia Maria is the classic coffee liqueur, created in Jamaica after World War II and named for the Tia Maria of a legend about a family recipe rescued during a 17th-century colonial war. It is made from 100% Arabica coffee beans, Jamaican rum, Madagascar vanilla and sugar, bottled at 20% ABV.
Sweet with a strong, dark coffee character and a complex aromatic structure of rich coffee, vanilla and a touch of rum, it is the base of a Tia Espresso Martini, a rum-forward alternative in a White Russian, and lovely over ice or in coffee.
