Weinbach Alsace Grand Cru Schlossberg Sélection de Grains Nobles Riesling 2017 (500ml)

Biodynamic. Sélection de Grains Nobles wines are much scarcer and richer than the Vendange Tardives, due to both the berry-by-berry harvest, and the stipulated sugar levels at harvest (256 g/L for Riesling, and 279 g/L for Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris). These wines also contain far more botrytised fruit (notwithstanding that 2017 was not a strong botrytis year for Weinbach). This was wild-fermented and aged in stainless steel for 18 months. This extraordinary wine finished with 10.5% alcohol and 144g/L residual balanced by 7.6 g/L acidity.Dripping with flavours and aromas of orange blossom, spring flowers and wild strawberries, this extraordinary SGN offers exceptional balance between alcohol, sugar and acidity.
