Three bottles that teach you American whiskey in one weekend: Buffalo Trace for classic Kentucky bourbon, Michter’s US*1 Small Batch for a rounder, softer take, and Sazerac 6 Year for the spice of straight rye.
Taste them neat, then in an Old Fashioned, and you’ll know what you like before you spend real money on the next bottle.
