Produced in San Luis Atolotitln, Puebla, this exceptionally small-production agave spirit is made by Maestro Flix Macedas from wild Mexicanito (Agave macroacantha) harvested in the Mixteca highlands.
The agave is allowed to reach natural maturity before harvest, with Mexicanito requiring approximately 12 years to mature. The pias are roasted in a volcanic stone-lined earthen oven, crushed by tahona and naturally fermented in oak before distillation in copper alembic stills. The finished spirit is bottled at natural proof without additives.
Bottled at 48% ABV, Mexicanito is a vivid expression of a lesser-seen wild agave and the traditional distilling culture of Puebla’s Mixteca region. Aromatic and complex, it shows layers of ripe tropical and citrus fruit alongside warm spice, herbal character and earthy minerality.
